Jessica Lin

Hi there. My name is Jessica and I am a therapist currently based in Gent and in Antwerp. When it comes to my professional background and therapy style, I have trained and worked in trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive settings in the US and now here in Belgium, equipping me with the skills to cultivate a safe and accepting space for a diverse group of people. My approach is person-centered and relational, in which I cater goals and therapy techniques to best fit your needs, taking into consideration your social environment. I draw inspiration from CBT, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, the Gottman method (for couples), and liberation health, finding that a combination of these techniques or frameworks tend to be the most helpful in encouraging and creating change, as well as contextualizing individual experiences within a sociocultural framework.

I have been very lucky to work with a number of individuals and families who've shown me resiliency at its greatest. The journey in recreating one's life, refashioning what is instilled in oneself, and rediscovering meaning in the face of turmoil can be difficult, but ultimately gratifying. I aim to offer a setting that, through time and perseverance, allows you to feel safe addressing, verbalizing, and processing the sources of your pain and suffering. Whether you are feeling misunderstood, confused, or find it difficult to make sense of others or yourself, I am here to listen.
